Female WWE champion admits she was "banged up" after major title defense

WWE Superstars frequently sustain injuries during matches due to the high-impact nature of the sport. These injuries can range from minor bruises and cuts to more serious concussions and broken bones. Recently, NXT Women's North American Champion, Kelani Jordan opened up about a time when she was slightly "banged up" following a successful title defense.

At Battleground 2024, Kelani defeated Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker, Lash Legend, Michin, and Sol Ruca in a Six-Way Ladder Match to become the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion.

She then put her championship on the line against Sol Ruca at the Heatwave Premium Live Event. Following a thrilling bout, Jordan retained her WWE NXT Women's North American Title.

In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Kelani Jordan stated that she felt amazing after her match with the 25-year-old star, despite feeling a bit banged up at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The WWE star praised her strong friendship with Sol Ruca since they shared the same background, which contributed to a competitive and exciting match between the two women.

"Oh, I felt amazing. A little bit banged up though. I was super happy with how I performed and also how we just meshed together. Me and Sol [Ruca] are good friends. So I think, and also since we come from the same background, we kind of knew what each other was going to go for, which I think that made it a good, like friendly, but competitive match and super high-flying," Jordan said.
