Female WWE legend should turn heel, believes Bully Ray

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently shared his thoughts on the company's women's division. He argued that it was time for a 42-year-old female star to turn heel and explained why he believed it would be beneficial.

The WWE legend in question is Natalya. She has been a prominent figure in the global juggernaut for nearly 17 years. The Queen of Harts has won the Divas Championship, the SmackDown Women's Championship, and the Women's Tag Team Championship once each.

On a recent episode of Busted Open, Bully Ray said The Queen of Harts should turn heel. The WWE Hall of Famer believed that with her experience and the presence of up-and-coming talents on the roster, Natalya could create a compelling storyline by adopting a villainous persona.

"I want to see a real Nattie Neidhart [Natalya] heel run. With all of the young girls in the WWE and Nattie being the 'elder statesman,' she could stir the pot there so well," Ray said.

While acknowledging that many fans supported Natalya as a babyface, Bully Ray claimed that a heel turn could offer a fresh and exciting direction for her character.

"I get it. Nattie comes out, [fans] cheer for Nattie, 'Yay Nattie!' Okay. But where are we going? Where's the depth to Nattie right now?" I think Nattie would love and completely embrace a change in character and start to go down the heel path. I think she would eat it alive, and I think she would knock it out of the park," Ray added. Natalya has not lost a match since she returned to WWE

The Queen of Harts made her in-ring comeback on the September 9, 2024, episode of RAW after a three-month absence. Before that, the Canadian last wrestled on NXT on June 4, 2024, when she pinned Izzi Dame in a singles match.

Upon her massive return on Monday Night RAW, Natalya joined forces with fellow babyfaces Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria to defeat Pure Fusion Collective members Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville.

On the September 16, 2024, installment of the red show, the former Divas Champion secured a big win over Zoey Stark in a one-on-one match. It remains uncertain whether WWE has any plans for Natalya to adopt a villainous persona.
