Female WWE star carried out after match was abruptly stopped at live event
A female WWE Superstar has seemingly suffered an injury at a live event tonight.
On SmackDown tonight, Austin Theory and Carmelo Hayes competed in a singles match that was stopped following a dangerous sequence. Medical personnel quickly entered the ring to check on the two superstars.
Unfortunately, another WWE Superstar seems to have suffered an injury tonight. At the NXT live event, Cora Jade took on Lyra Valkyria in the main event.
Following a Powerbomb on Jade, the match was abruptly stopped. Jade was then helped to the back by personnel.
Cora Jade recently came back after a brief WWE hiatus
Cora Jade was on a four-month break from in-ring action last year. She finally returned on December 9, 2023, at the WWE NXT Deadline event. At the show, she attacked Lyra Valkyria and then posed with the NXT Women's Championship belt.
Cora Jade has done incredibly well for herself so far. She is a former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion with a bright future ahead of her. Two years ago, she had a chat with Fightful and heaped big praise on a veteran superstar:
"It’s crazy, especially because Natalya was the very first women’s wrestler that I decided was my favorite. I loved the pink and black hair and her look. She was my favorite at the time, this was before AJ Lee came. My first initial female role model was Natalya. That was a real story when I went to a house show, and she pointed to me in the crowd, and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. To be able to work with her is, to this day, my favorite match I’ve ever had. It was so much fun. Obviously, to be able to work with someone I looked up to, but I think I grew so much as a wrestler and performer. Not only in the ring, but hearing her brain and how she thinks about things and why you do things." [H/T Fightful]
No update has come out yet on Cora Jade's condition following her injury scare. Here's hoping Jade isn't seriously injured and is doing well.
Check back for more updates on Jade's condition over the next few hours!
