Finn Bálor discloses for how long he shall remain with WWE
Finn Bálor is once again a WWE champion on the company's flagship show Monday Night RAW. He managed to regain the World Tag Team Championship a few weeks ago, this time, with his longtime friend from his home country, JD McDonagh.
Bálor has been a staple of World Wrestling Entertainment ever since he joined The Judgment Day in 2022. Ever since the formation of the group, there has been a resurgence in the Irishman's career. The Prince wrestled a Hell in a Cell match against Adam 'Edge' Copeland at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, among other high-profile contests.
He discussed several things when he appeared as a guest on the What's The Story podcast a few days ago. The former Universal Champion also informed that his new WWE contract is for the next five years, so he is not going anywhere at the very least within that time.
"Yeah, another extension for five years. I'm super excited. You never know. I remember when I was 20 and I was like, 'If I make it to 30 I'll be doing well.' Then, you're in your 40s and I'm like, 'Sh*t, do they want me to keep doing this? Am I able to keep doing it? How is the body going to feel?' We sat down, had a couple of conversations and the feelings were mutual. I wanted to stay, they wanted me to stay. We hashed it out and I couldn't be happier."
On WWE RAW this week, The Prince joined his stablemates JD and Carlito to score a pinfall victory over R-Truth, The Miz and Braun Strowman.
Finn Bálor is grateful for the last decade in WWE
After a successful run in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as the founder of the iconic Bullet Club stable, Finn Bálor signed a contract with WWE in 2014. Since then, he has been a loyal member of the Stamford-based promotion's roster.
Over the years, he has won several championship belts in WWE. He was even chosen to become the inaugural Universal Champion in 2016 but was fatefully forced to vacate the belt in less than 24 hours after suffering a labrum tear that would require surgery.
"Ten years is incredible. I lasted for six years in England and I thought, 'Whatever I do, England is always going to be the biggest chapter of my career.' Then I went to Japan for eight years. 'You lasted eight years in Japan. That's definitely going to be the main chunk of my career.' Then, I was just going to WWE to see what happens, maybe last two or three years and go back to Ireland or Japan. Now, I'm ten years in with another five years to go, fingers crossed they don't fire me. It's a pretty wild journey."
The Judgment Day is one of the hottest factions in 2024 along with The Bloodline in World Wrestling Entertainment. With RAW's cliffhanger ending this week which featured the return of Rhea Ripley, how the faction is affected in the coming weeks bear watching.
