Finn Balor responds to major criticism after he and JD McDonagh defeat The New Day on WWE RAW

On WWE RAW, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh successfully defended the World Tag Team Championship against The New Day. This was Balor and McDonagh's first defense since winning the titles on June 24.

At WrestleMania XL, Balor and his former tag team partner, Damian Priest, lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship to Awesome-Truth and A-Town Down Under. R-Truth and The Miz won the RAW Tag Team Championship, later replaced by the newly inaugurated World Tag Team Championship.

In recent weeks, Balor and McDonagh have been heavily criticized for the lack of title defenses. On Twitter/X, The Prince responded with a sarcastic tweet after defeating Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on RAW.

"It’s be ONE day since me and @jd_mcdonagh defended our World Tag Team Championships," wrote Balor.

Woods teased a potential split within The New Day following The Judgment Day's win. For weeks, there has been tension between him and Kofi Kingston, mostly during their feud with The Final Testament.

Finn Balor made a huge revelation on WWE RAW

During this week's Monday Night RAW, Finn Balor confessed he was the mastermind behind Dominik Mysterio's betrayal of Rhea Ripley. During a backstage segment, Balor met her and revealed the truth.

At SummerSlam, Mysterio betrayed Ripley and prevented her from winning the Women's World Championship. The Eradicator was previously forced to relinquish the title after an injury from a brawl against Liv Morgan.

The vacant title was won by Becky Lynch, who was later dethroned by the reigning champion, Liv Morgan, at the King and Queen of The Ring Premium Live Event.

At the upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event, Rhea Ripley will challenge Liv Morgan again for the WWE Women's World Championship. Meanwhile, Finn Balor will face Damian Priest in a singles match.

Balor betrayed his former tag team partner at the SummerSlam premium live event, costing him the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther.
