Footage of CM Punk training for SummerSlam match surfaces; watch the star pull off some incredible moves

The WWE Universe awaits CM Punk to make his much-awaited return to in-ring action at SummerSlam. Punk's match against Drew McIntyre will mark his first televised singles match since his return at Survivor Series: WarGames last year. A video of the former AEW star training for his showdown at the upcoming PLE is doing the rounds and fans will be happy to see him looking fit and pulling off some great moves.

Punk made a heroic return to WWE at the Survivor Series: WarGames PLE last year. Since then, he has only competed in the Men's Royal Rumble Match on WWE TV. The Second City Saint was the final superstar to be eliminated from the match, leading to Cody Rhodes winning the 'Rumble and punching his ticket to WrestleMania XL.

Unfortunately, CM Punk injured himself during the match and hasn't been cleared to compete in a WWE ring since. In a week, Punk will get his hands on his bitter rival, Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. The WWE Universe is excited about the two superstars finally coming to blows after months of back-and-forth. The former WWE Champion has taken to the ring to train for his upcoming match and a clip of the same is doing the rounds on the internet.

What is the special stipulation for the match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk at SummerSlam?

In the build to WrestleMania XL, the WWE Universe expected to see CM Punk challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Due to his unfortunate injury, Punk was sidelined and Drew McIntyre managed to secure a shot at Rollins' title at the time.

At WrestleMania XL, the Scottish Warrior won the title but dropped it to Damian Priest who cashed in his MITB contract after Punk attacked the Scot. Since then, Punk has cost McIntyre a few chances to regain the title. At Money In The Bank, Punk cost Seth Rollins the chance to regain his title when he attacked McIntyre, who had just cashed in his briefcase, allowing Damian Priest to take advantage of the situation and walk out of the PLE with his World Heavyweight Championship intact.

This week, the Stamford-based promotion added Seth Rollins to Punk and McIntyre's SummerSlam match as the special guest referee. The WWE Universe expects Rollins to get involved at some point during the match and cost either one of the competitors the win to see the feud between the three superstars continue.
