Former champion hints at major return during championship match at SummerSlam to even the odds
WWE SummerSlam is less than a week away and the WWE Universe can't keep calm. The premium live event will see many championship matches. In the build to the Women's World Championship match, former Women's Tag Team Champion, Raquel Rodriguez has hinted at returning to help her friend, Liv Morgan.
Liv Morgan will be defending her Women's World Championship at WWE SummerSlam this weekend. She will be going one-on-one with Rhea Ripley, who was forced to vacate the title after she was seriously injured post-WrestleMania XL. During her absence, Morgan tried to take away everything from Ripley, including Dominik Mysterio.
Rhea Ripley returned to WWE RAW a few weeks ago and reminded Dominik Mysterio of where his loyalty should lie. She immediately got Dirty Dom back on her side leaving Morgan all alone and in tears on last week's episode of red brand. However, it looks like the champion may have her former tag team partner by her side. Raquel Rodriquez recently shared a photo of Morgan on her Instagram story, hinting at a possible return this weekend.
Raquel and Morgan previously were a tag team in 2023, together they won the Women's Tag Team Championship last year. Rodriquez is currently out of action after she was diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome. It will be interesting to see if the former NXT Women's Champion makes her return and side with her former tag team partner to even the odds against Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio.
Which titles are on the line at WWE SummerSlam?
The WWE Universe will see six championships contested. In addition to the Women's World Championship, the premium live event will see Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa. 2024 King of the Ring, Gunther will get his shot at Damian Priest's World Heavyweight Championship.
Social Media Sensation Logan Paul will put his United States Title against LA Knight. Over on RAW, Sami Zayn will look forward to once again defending Bron Breakker to retain his Intercontinental Championship. The WWE Women's Championship will also be on the line when Nia Jax challenges Bayley at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
Possibly, one of the biggest matches of the night will see Drew McIntyre and CM Punk finally get their hands on each other in an official match. However, Seth Rollins will be officiating the match. This year's SummerSlam is bound to have a lot of drama with many returns teased and the kind of matches on the card.
