Former champion reveals help she was given by AEW star following move to WWE
WWE has made several key talent acquisitions in the last year. The new era features stars with experience from other wrestling promotions and across forbidden doors with rival companies. A certain superstar is opening up on how her tag team partner helped, and how she was assisted by 3 big names, including a current AEW star.
Jade Cargill left AEW last year and joined WWE to a massive buzz. She debuted in the Women's Royal Rumble Match and quickly aligned with Bianca Belair and Naomi, teaming at WrestleMania XL to defeat Damage CTRL. It seems Belair and Naomi weren't the only ones to get close to Cargill in WWE as she has been friends with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes going back to her time in AEW. She also has at least one close friend still back in AEW - Ricky Starks.
Big Jade just spoke with TV Insider and was asked how important it was to have The EST as a resource when she's having an off-night and the trolls were hitting hard. The 32-year-old praised Belair for her abilities and mentioned how she was able to lean on The American Nightmare, The Second City Saint, and Absolute for support.
"It's great because she has been at the top of the echelon. Working with her has been an honor and pleasure. Just to be able to really mesh ideas, figure out what works and what doesn’t. If I’m having a hard time, what do you do when you have the hard days? Then, I also have Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Ricky Starks... Giving the best advice they can. People I can go to and unload and they tell me, 'Okay, I’ve been in this industry for so many years. I know how this works.' This entire industry has been supportive of my career and what I’m doing. I’m very thankful for that," Jade Cargill said. [H/T - TV Insider]
Cargill won WWE gold in her 10th match for the company. She and Belair won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship from The Kabuki Warriors on May 4 at Backlash: France, but lost the titles to The Unholy Union on June 15 at Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
Jade Cargill revealed issues with Bianca Belair following WWE tour
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair have dominated since first teaming up back in the spring. Their second televised two-on-two tag team bout was a win over Asuka and Kairi Sane at Backlash: France, for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
Big Jade and The EST often receive fan attention each week for their matching outfits. Cargill revealed that there was a significant issue between the two on WWE's recent tour of Japan as Belair was seemingly not interested in doing cosplay.
Cargill recalled how Belair rejected her idea, so she dressed as Mirko from My Hero Academia by herself. The former AEW TBS Champion said she is optimistic that Belair will soon come around on her anime and superhero ideas for attire.
