Former champion shares travel update after WWE Crown JewelÂ
WWE Crown Jewel featured the continuation of some storylines and a few moments to savor, especially for some of the company's top stars. Women's World Champion Liv Morgan defeated Women's Champion Nia Jax to become the first-ever Women's Crown Jewel Champion.
Liv Morgan could not have done it alone, though, as Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio played key roles in how the finish happened. Rodriguez has now shared an update on having arrived back in the United States after a successful night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
Taking to Instagram, Raquel Rodriguez informed fans that her flight was delayed owing to bad weather. There was also trouble finding her luggage:
"I'm almost home. Bad weather=delayed, cancelled connection and no bags," she wrote.
Raquel Rodriguez was reportedly set to work with Rhea Ripley at Crown Jewel before WWE found out about Ripley's injury. The company instead booked Rodriguez and Liv Morgan to attack The Eradicator on the October 29 episode of NXT in the parking lot. This segment was used to write the Aussie off television as she will be out for the foreseeable future.
Liv Morgan should fire Raquel Rodriguez, says former WWE writer Vince Russo
Vince Russo recently discussed Raquel Rodriguez's role as Women's World Champion Liv Morgan's bodyguard.
Speaking to Mac Davis on BroDown, he asked the host why Rodriguez did not put more effort into protecting Morgan during a pre-match segment on SmackDown last Friday. The champion wrestled Tiffany Stratton following an in-ring promo segment featuring the two women, Nia Jax, and 'Dirty' Dom.
"If Raquel Rodriguez is the enforcer and she does nothing to help Liv Morgan, if you're Liv Morgan are you not firing her the next day?" Russo questioned. "Now, Mac, am I stretching? Am I being unreasonable? She gets dumped by Tiffany Stratton, the enforcer stands there and does nothing, so what good is the enforcer, Mac?"
On the latest episode of RAW, Iyo Sky won a Battle Royal to become the new number one contender to Liv Morgan. It remains to be seen when the title match will take place. Meanwhile, WWE has also teased a program between the former Women's Tag Team Champion and the current titleholders Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.
