Former SmackDown star comments on whether Big E is done with WWE after New Day betrayal

Former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan has shared his thoughts on whether Big E will remain with the company or be done after getting betrayed on RAW. His longtime teammates, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, turned on him.

The former WWE Champion made a surprise return to the red brand this week and wanted to help his friends, but they told him off and made him leave the ring. Woods and Kingston turned heel, while E is still a babyface. However, the latter is still not medically cleared to compete.

During a recent edition of the Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan was asked whether he thinks Big E is staying with WWE.

"Yeah, there's no way they're gonna explode that group like that and not have a payoff somewhere, especially for Big E. So yeah, I do take that as he will be doing something. And I love the fact that he tried to use the misdirection of 'Hey, I'm gonna come back and be your manager, I'm gonna get you guys back on track, we gotta be together.' It was such a well thought out, in-ring promo that did so much," said Morgan. [1:14-1:40]

Jonathan Coachman doesn't think Big E will return to an in-ring reaction

The 38-year-old star has been sidelined with an injury since 2022. Although he hasn't appeared on TV every week, he still appears as a correspondent on pre-shows and post-shows for premium live events.

Speaking on Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Jonathan Coachman said he doesn't think the former WWE Champion will be cleared to compete again.

"I think that emotion tonight, Tommy, is [that] it went all the way back through his head, and he was like, 'Wait a second, is this really over?' And I think for Big E, that was an emotional moment because, Tommy, I think for him it really is over. Don't you think? I don't think he's coming back," he said.

As Kofi Kingston said on RAW, Steve Austin, Edge, and Kurt Angle returned after breaking their neck. Only time will tell whether E will get cleared to wrestle.
