Former World Champion hypes WWE RAW as SummerSlam build commences

The build to WWE's biggest event of the year, not named WrestleMania, will officially commence tonight on RAW. General managers Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce have enough on their plates, which they need to address regarding their respective brands this week.

Since returning to the program in April, Braun Strowman has taken his time to re-establish his place in the roster. The Judgment Day is his adversary, who will stop at nothing to take down the former Universal Champion.

While it is unclear what Strowman's role is for SummerSlam, tonight, The Monster Among All Monsters will join forces with The Miz & R-Truth for a match against The Judgment Day's Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and Carlito.

After dropping the World Tag Team Championship to Bálor and JD two weeks ago, Miz and Truth will be looking to win back their momentum. As for Strowman—who missed WWE's Money in the Bank in Toronto—he is pumped up for the upcoming episode, which is scheduled to emanate from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada:

"I like my Mondays like I like my Steaks!!!! #RAW," Braun Strowman posted on Instagram.

Braun Strowman missed a lot of time in the past year owing to a serious neck injury that required him to undergo fusion surgery for his C4 and C5 vertebrae. It took him 11 whole months to finally resurface on WWE television.

Despite his involvement with one of the most notable factions in World Wrestling Entertainment, the former Universal Champion has not been booked for any major events thus far. But all that could change as we gear up for The Biggest Party of the Summer on August 3.

Adam Pearce had an altercation with Drew McIntyre; the former WWE Champion was indefinitely suspended

Drew McIntyre won the titular bout this past weekend and, later that night, cashed in the contract during Damian Priest's title defense against Seth Rollins. Unfortunately for the Scot, a certain "Second City Devil" interrupted the proceedings.

CM Punk showed up out of nowhere and assaulted McIntyre. Their fight spilled to the outside. Punk hit the 2024 Mr. Money in the Bank with several chair shots next to the ring announcer's area and even choked the latter with a wire.

This commotion allowed Priest to retain his belt. He wound up pinning a fallen McIntyre. Neither the former WWE Champion nor Seth Rollins were amused by the turn of events.

Post-show, Drew McIntyre got into a fight with RAW GM Adam Pearce, which forced Pearce to take strong action against the Scot. McIntyre is now suspended.

The Scottish Warrior showed no remorse for his actions afterwards. It remains to be seen where this storyline goes from here. Meanwhile, Punk's in-ring return date is not decided as of this writing. He may not get cleared before SummerSlam.
