Former writer blasts WWE for wasting its best talent, pushes John Cena-like booking for 32-year-old female star (Exclusive)

Former WWE writer Vince Russo has blasted the creative team for seemingly cooling off on their push for former Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. The duo lost their tag team gold at Clash at the Castle last month in a Triple Threat match.

Since the loss, Cargill and Belair have appeared in backstage segments and competed in Money in the Bank qualifying matches, where they were both unsuccessful.

Vince Russo brought up how not enough women are over with fans on the current WWE roster on the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW. He was also asked why the former Tag Team Champions hadn't done much over the last two weeks.

Russo questioned whether Cargill was being punished for seemingly growing arrogant, but show host Dr. Chris Featherstone mentioned that the 32-year-old star was well-liked backstage.

This left Russo further baffled by the duo's recent booking in WWE, as he questioned the decision to stop investing in Binaca Belair. The wrestling veteran noted that The EST of WWE was an excellent act, but the creative team wasn't capitalizing on her caliber. He was quoted as saying:

"I have no idea, bro. I can only think somebody maybe Jade was getting too big for britches and they had to put her in her place. I have no idea (...) That [Bianca Belair] was the most over, realistic, professional-looking act that they had. And now, the fire and ice? Like really, seriously, bro?" (40:32 - 41:25)

Vince Russo further argued that WWE could book Jade Cargill like John Cena if they had doubts over her role in a tag team. He believed Bianca Belair would be brilliant at playing the worker, while Cargill could use hot tags and power moves to maintain the balance.

The former writer believed the abovementioned booking strategy would allow the former champions to gain momentum while Jade Cargill built herself. Vince Russo felt limited but powerful moves like John Cena's were the key to keeping the duo's push free of jeopardy.

"Wouldn't you think they teamed her with Bianca because Bianca is going to be the worker? You give Jade the hot tag and teach her a couple of power moves. That's it, bro. Was Cena the one with five moves? She should have been the power. That's not too difficult. You give her three moves that she comes in and does, game over." (53:38 - 54:18)

What's next for Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill in WWE?

The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions are expected to go after their gold sooner or later. However, the events on recent episodes of SmackDown have potentially hinted at their next feud.

We may see Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill engage in a rivalry with Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Last week on SmackDown, Hartwell cost Cargill her Money in the Bank qualifier match against Candice LeRae. Later, she returned the favor by attacking Hartwell during her MITB qualifier match.

Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell are desperate to gain momentum in the women's tag team division, and a feud with Binaca Belair and Jade Cargill could work wonders for the heel duo. It will be interesting to see how WWE will book Cargill and Belair on SmackDown moving forward.
