Former WWE champion alleges Oba Femi imitated his pose; hints at a future title challenge
WWE Superstar Oba Femi has been a dominant champion since capturing the NXT North American Title from Dragon Lee in January 2024. Former United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne has seemingly accused the powerhouse of copying his iconic pose.
On the latest episode of NXT, Femi put his title on the line against Chase U's Duke Hudson. Both men battled fiercely, but the Nigerian star emerged victorious and retained his gold.
Meanwhile, The Bruiserweight showed up on the white-and-gold brand after betraying his former Brawling Brutes stablemate, Sheamus, on the July 15 edition of Monday Night RAW. In a backstage segment, Trick Williams approached Dunne, seeking his suggestion for reclaiming the NXT Championship from Ethan Page.
The former UK Champion told Williams to figure out how to dethrone Page himself.
A post on X/Twitter featured a picture of Pete Dunne holding the United Kingdom Championship tight between his teeth and a photo of current NXT North American Champion Oba Femi striking a similar pose with his title.
Responding to the tweet, The Bruiserweight called out Femi for 'imitating' his pose and seemingly teased going one-on-one with the up-and-coming star for his coveted title.
"i m i t a t e. probably," Dunne wrote.

Oba Femi wants to face record-breaking WWE champion
Oba Femi recently expressed his desire to share the ring with the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history, Gunther.
During an appearance on The A Show on RNC Radio, Femi mentioned that after moving to WWE's main roster, he would like to wrestle RAW stars such as Ilja Dragunov and The Ring General.
"Gunther. Let me say Ilja [Dragunov], too, because I really wanted to wrestle Ilja before he left NXT. I knew the writing was on the wall, and I was like, ‘Ah, I might not get to wrestle this guy.’ But Gunther, Ilja, I like people who do simple things well, and I feel like those two are the embodiment of that," he said.
It remains to be seen whether Pete Dunne will go after Femi's North American Championship on NXT or whether he will continue his budding rivalry with Sheamus after the attack on WWE RAW.
