Wrestling veteran believes Chelsea Green could win the WWE Women's United States Championship
Chelsea Green has recently emerged as a fan favorite. While she awaits her first singles WWE title win, wrestling veteran Vince Russo has backed the SmackDown Superstar to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion.
On an episode of BroDown with Mac Davis exclusively on Backstage Pass, Russo praised Green for her impressive performances week after week. The former WWE head writer added he wouldn't be surprised if the 33-year-old wins the tournament to claim the championship. The veteran believes it is the perfect time for the wrestling promotion to reward Chelsea with a title.
"There are just times when it's just time to give somebody a belt. She [Chelsea Green], to me, has done such a great, great job and has really been lost in the shuffle. She continued to deliver week after week and I just think there comes a time when you need to reward somebody. And I wouldn't be surprised if they wind up putting the belt on her coming out of this tournament," he said. [From 12:00 onwards]

Chelsea Green and Michin have an even-steven record against each other. While Green won their first one-on-one contest earlier this year in September, Michin defeated the Canadian star in a Dumpster Match in October.
It remains to be seen who will win the all-important championship bout, which is scheduled for later tonight.
