Former WWE champion breaks character to make major claim ahead of Money in the Bank
WWE Money in The Bank 2024 is scheduled for July 6 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. Ahead of the premium live event, former Women's Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green broke character before making a major claim.
The 33-year-old will feature in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match alongside IYO SKY, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, Naomi, and Zoey Stark. Green won her Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifier match on the 21 June edition of Friday Night SmackDown against Bianca Belair and Michin.
During her recent appearance on Wrestling with Freddie, The Hot Mess claimed that she is more prepared for the match than any of her competitors. She mentioned being part of the Queen of the Mountain match in TNA/IMPACT before her return to the Stamford-based company. Chelsea Green further broke character to point out that WWE fans have yet to witness her in-ring abilities.
"I think I’m probably more ready than any of these girls for so many different reasons, but mostly because one of the last matches I did with IMPACT/TNA before I went back to WWE was Queen of the Mountain, which was basically a TLC match in a cage. So, this does not scare me one bit. In fact, I think this could be a moment that does elevate me with the WWE Universe because they’ve only got to see me do fun, crazy things through the internet. They haven’t seen it in person yet," she said. [H/T - WrestleZone]

WWE Hall of Famer explains why Chelsea Green should win at Money in the Bank
Chelsea Green is currently one of the most entertaining characters on WWE television. The SmackDown Superstar received massive crowd support following her surprise win in the Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifier.
On a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray stated that he wants Green to win at the premium live event. The Hall of Famer claimed that it would be the right move, considering her character work. He added that the Canadian star could further elevate the briefcase over the Women's World Championship.
"1000% who I want to win is Chelsea Green. Who do you think will win? Lyra [Valkyria]. Chelsea with that briefcase is entertainment gold.. It's just gold. But it's never going to happen. [...] Because, as I said, as you backed up, Chelsea with that briefcase, she will make that briefcase mean more than anybody else. She will look at that briefcase as if it is more important than the Women’s World Championship," he said. [H/T: Cultaholic Wrestling]
