Former WWE champion breaks character to send heartfelt message to Lyra Valkyria
A former WWE champion broke character today on social media to send a heartfelt message to Lyra Valkyria. The WWE RAW star was in action last Monday night in a six-woman tag team match.
Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, and Natalya teamed up last Monday night on the red brand to defeat Pure Fusion Collective. Valkyria recently got engaged to independent wrestler LJ Cleary after the happy couple had been dating for a decade.
The Unholy Union's Isla Dawn took to her Instagram story today to repost a message from Valkyria. She reacted to a photo of Valkyria with her fiancé and shared a heartfelt reaction, as seen in the image below. You can check out Dawn's message on her Instagram story by clicking here.
The Unholy Union (Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre) lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair earlier this month at WWE Bash in Berlin. The popular duo recently had a rematch for the titles but were defeated by Cargill and Belair once again on last Monday's edition of WWE RAW.
Lyra Valkyria comments on her rise in WWE
RAW star Lyra Valkyria recently discussed joining the promotion's main roster and finding success.
Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch at Halloween Havoc last year to capture the NXT Women's Championship. She was selected by RAW in this year's WWE Draft and made it to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament but was defeated by Nia Jax.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, Lyra Valkyria noted that her career has progressed quickly, and she is now competing against her dream opponents on the main roster.
"It does move so fast. It's crazy. You dream about stepping into the ring against some of these women that you're watching, coming up the whole time, and then suddenly you are across the ring from them, and then it's no longer like, 'What if this happens?' Then it's just, 'Well, I gotta see what I got right here right now and prove myself now.' It's insane." [1:43 – 2:00]
