Former WWE champion calls himself the perfect opponent for John Cena, just like legendary real-life Bloodline member

A former champion in WWE described himself as the perfect opponent for John Cena next year when the legendary superstar kicks off his farewell tour. Bronson Reed, a former NXT North American Champion, also referenced real-life Bloodline member Umaga to back up his claims.

Cena addressed his future at Money in the Bank earlier this year, announcing that he intends to retire at the end of 2025. He will appear on WWE television next year and have as many matches as possible.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Reed explained why he's the "perfect John Cena heel" and used Umaga as an example. Cena and The Samoan Bulldozer had a feud for the WWE Championship back in 2007 and even had a Last Man Standing Match at the Royal Rumble PLE that year.

"I'd like to work with CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and even John Cena when he's back so, I think I'd be a perfect, I'm the perfect John Cena heel. The matches he had with Umaga and those guys. I'd be perfect against him," Reed said. [H/T: POST Wrestling]

Cena is set to star this farewell tour in January, while Reed is currently busy with Seth Rollins. The Visionary recently returned to RAW to help Braun Strowman beat Reed in a Last Man Standing match. "Big" Bronson put Rollins on the shelf two months ago by hitting him with six Tsunami splashes.

John Cena reveals how many dates he'll be working during his farewell tour

Speaking to Denise Salcedo for Instinct Culture back in July, John Cena confirmed that he's penciled in to make at least 36 appearances for his WWE farewell tour. Cena admitted that he's been planning about it since 2019 and called 2025 the perfect time to do it.

"It's something I've been preparing for for a long time. If you back-track interviews, I started talking about that in maybe 2019. I'm ready for it. Now is the perfect time to do it. I have a little bit of time in 2025 and the WWE has been awesome in working with schedules. They thought it was a great idea. They kind of ran with the idea. We expanded it to a year. 36 dates. I feel great. It's a happy thing. I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel because I don't believe in that, but I’m going to approach it with an upbeat attitude," Cena said. [H/T: PWMania]
