Former WWE champion eyes major push upon return
A former WWE champion is seemingly looking for a major push upon his return to the ring. The star in question has not competed in a match since the April 30 edition of NXT.
Ivar has been on the shelf with an injury since his loss to North American Champion Oba Femi at NXT Spring Breakin' earlier this year. His tag team partner in The Viking Raiders, Erik, is also out of action with a neck injury and has not wrestled since last year.
The veteran took to social media today to respond to a fan claiming he should get a match at a Premium Live Event when he returned to the ring. Ivar reacted to the post with an eyes emoji, as seen in his post below.
The Viking Raiders joined the promotion in 2018 and are former RAW Tag Team Champions. Valhalla, formerly known as Sarah Logan, is married to Erik in real life and also has not been seen on WWE television for some time.
Sam Roberts discusses The Viking Raiders' potential return to WWE RAW
Media personality Sam Roberts predicted that The Viking Raiders would be returning to RAW soon.
Speaking on a recent edition of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts noted that there was a vignette on the red brand that displayed Nordic letters. He suggested that could be a reference to the former champions, and Erik and Ivar could be on their way back to the ring soon.
"It makes perfect sense that that's the return of The Viking Raiders. They've been on the shelf. They're still signed to WWE. The thing looked like a Viking shield. The letters are Nordic or whatever it's called. It's Viking letters. It's The Viking Raiders," he said. [1:03:24 - 1:03:41]

The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa are the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown and will be defending their titles in a Triple Threat Ladder Match this Friday night. The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are the current World Heavyweight Champions on RAW. It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for The Viking Raiders when they finally return to action down the line.
