Former WWE champion makes emotional post after enormous milestone; was told "NO" over 40 times

A former WWE champion has made a post online about his career in the wrestling business. The star had a lot to say about his time in the industry and shared an emotional post about it.

Former Prime Time Players member and ex-tag team champion, Darren Young, aka Fred Rosser, talked about his time in the company. The star was very successful in the company as a tag team star. While that success was not replicated in his singles run, since leaving, he's continued to be extremely popular.

In a post on X, Darren Young spoke about his 22nd wrestling anniversary this year.

"Today marks my 22 year wrestling anniversary since I’ve been rockin’ and rollin’ in this crazy industry. Sept 11, 2002 was the very first time I stepped foot into a wrestling ring. One thing is for certain is that you have to dream big and dare to fail like me."

He went on to talk about how he got his start in the company and said that he got told "NO" by them over 40 times when he was first trying to work for the Stamford-based promotion. Eventually, they would say yes.

"I was told NO over 40 times by @WWE while pursuing them relentlessly from 2002-2009 and I truly believe there’s only 2 options regarding chasing your dreams. You’re either IN or you’re OUT. There’s no such thing as a life in-between and I hope to continue to be source of inspiration and positivity for the younger generations to coming up."

Darren Young has spoken about wanting to return to WWE NXT in the past

The star may no longer be with the company, but he's talked about wanting to return. He specifically mentioned NXT and said that he was always talking to WWE about what he could do. This was two years ago, but he's not returned since.

"I always said just because moves aren't being announced doesn't mean moves aren't being made," Rosser said. "[I'm] always talking to WWE about what more can I do, whether it's coaching or coming back to 'NXT' because it's almost like nostalgia. It's been over ten years since I was on 'NXT.' Just imagine me coming to 'NXT' with the Strong Openweight Champion to defend it. To just come through, I don't have to stay."

Fans will have to wait and see if he ever gets the chance to go back.
