Former WWE champion makes an interesting offer to Damian Priest
A popular WWE Superstar recently made an interesting offer to World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest regarding his title match at SummerSlam. The name in question is Gunther.
The Ring General defeated Randy Orton in the final of the KOTR Tournament to become the King of the Ring, earlier this year at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia. In addition to the crown, the 36-year-old was awarded a match for the World Heavyweight Championship at The Biggest Party of the Summer. Consequently, he will lock horns with The Judgment Day member at the premium live event.
Damian Priest and Gunther had a face-off on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. The two did not hold back and were engaged in a fierce battle of words. During their conversation, the Imperium leader asked the champion to hand over the title to him to avoid the embarrassment of losing at SummerSlam.
The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history took to Instagram earlier today to share a video of the segment, seemingly suggesting that the offer was still on the table.
"Fair offer," wrote Gunther.

Bill Apter opens up about his expectations from Damian Priest's title defense at WWE SummerSlam
Damian Priest retained his title against all odds at Money in the Bank. The Archer of Infamy received assistance from CM Punk, as the latter attacked Drew McIntyre during the bout. The Scottish Warrior had cashed in his MITB contract the same night he'd won it, making the championship affair between Priest and Seth Rollins, a Triple Threat Match.
Priest's next title defense will be against The Ring General, who has yet to compete in a televised match since his win over The Viper at King and Queen of the Ring. The two experienced performers are expected to put on a great show. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted show, the veteran journalist, Bill Apter predicted the contest to be a classic given their history outside WWE.
"I was mentioning this when we were taping Time Machine, that he [Damian Priest] and Gunther could be a classic old school wrestling match. The reason being they have been in the ring with each other for about 10 years, way back in Europe... The two of them should have a really classic good match because I think their natural instincts work with each other, and they have worked so many times together throughout their careers and I just, I have said this before but I just think that the respect that Damian Priest is starting to have from the fans is really great because he is a cool, collected World Champion," said Apter. With WWE SummerSlam nearly a fortnight away, it remains to be seen who will walk out of the Cleveland Browns Stadium as the World Heavyweight Champion.
