Former WWE champion provides injury update 163 days after last match
Many WWE Superstars have suffered injuries this year. A former champion recently provided an update 163 days after competing in her last match.
Many big names have been shelved by the company due to injuries. Charlotte Flair is still recovering from her injuries, while Rhea Ripley recently returned to the ring to get back in the Women’s World Championship scene.
Meanwhile, former NXT Tag Team Champion Shotzi has also been out of action due to an ACL injury. During the February 13, 2024 taping of the February 20 episode of NXT, Shotzi suffered a knee injury during her match against NXT Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria.
While Lyra dropped the title soon after the match and moved to the main roster, Shotzi is still working hard to recover and get back in the ring 163 days after her final match was taped.
Taking to Instagram, Shotzi posted a video of her testing out her knee and gave a positive update to WWE fans. She wrote that she couldn’t wait to get back in the ring.

"First biodex test done! Little over half way there! Cant wait to be back in the ring! #aclrecovery #meniscustear @ladytsportstherapy @wwe," she wrote.

Many WWE fans see Shotzi as a future women’s champion. She has had some great matches in the ring and has a unique character that has helped her stay ahead of many other superstars.
Vince Russo believes WWE RAW Superstar will never get over
As noted earlier, Shotzi had her final in-ring match against Lyra Valkyria which led to her injury. The match had to be stopped abruptly.
Lyra has since moved to the main roster. Many fans see a lot of potential in the former NXT Women’s Champion. However, wrestling veteran Vince Russo thinks that the 27-year-old will never get over.
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince made it clear that he will retire if Lyra Valkyria becomes a big deal in WWE.
"I must have said on our show, 'If Lyra Velcro ever gets over, I will retire from wrestling,' and some dude was actually asking me when I'm gonna retire because Lyra Velcro is so over," Russo said.
Lyra has a long way to go before she can be named among the top female stars in the company. She could become the next Becky Lynch if she continues to put in the hard work.
