Former WWE champion's 798-day undefeated streak comes to an end at SummerSlam

The Women's World Championship match kicked off WWE SummerSlam and as expected it wasn't without controversy. Liv Morgan wasn't able to pin Ripley from one ObLIVion, but she needed assistance from Dominik Mysterio and a steel chair to retain her title.

After the match, it was clear that Mysterio had made his choice between the two women and Ripley was distraught. Mostly because her undefeated 796-day streak had come to an end.

The last time Mami lost a singles match in a WWE ring was back on May 29, 2022, when she took on Liv Morgan on an episode of RAW.

The two women have created a lot of history over the past two years and Mami has been able to hold the Women's World Championship for over a year before she was forced to vacate the title when she was injured by Liv Morgan back in April following WrestleMania XL.

Morgan has been dodging Ripley since her return but was able to prove at SummerSlam that it's not all about what happens in the ring since she was able to come out on top due to the mind games that she has been playing over the past four months.
