Former WWE Champion "would love" to have meeting with Tony Khan (Exclusive)
Tony Khan has hired several former WWE Superstars since All Elite Wrestling launched in 2019. In an exclusive Q&A, Alberto Del Rio addressed whether he would be interested in joining AEW one day.
Del Rio won four WWE world titles during his run with the company between 2009 and 2016. The 47-year-old has wrestled for several promotions since then, including AAA, TNA, and WWC. However, he has never appeared in AEW.
Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Del Rio confirmed he would like to have a meeting with Khan:
"I have never seen the man. I have never talked to him. I don't think we ever met, but yeah, I would love to exchange some words and some knowledge and something with him. He's an important piece of the wrestling industry. He's doing good things with his company. He's trying to take the company to the next level." [0:40 – 1:12]

Alberto Del Rio on Tony Khan's AEW challenging WWE
Since All Elite Wrestling was founded, the company has often been compared to WWE. Many wrestlers have worked for both companies in recent years, most notably Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Jade Cargill.
Alberto Del Rio believes Tony Khan deserves credit for getting AEW in a position where people compare the promotion to WWE:
"I know they know they still have a lot to work to become what WWE is today, but of course they've been in the business for six, seven, eight years, something like that, and WWE has been there for many, many years, so I would love to one day be able to talk and then see where the business can take us." In the immediate future, Del Rio's sights are set on winning the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship in Puerto Rico on September 21. The former WWE star has previously challenged for the title but never won it.
