Former WWE employee details possible reason why Gunther hasn't been seen on TV (Exclusive)

WWE star Gunther is possibly one of the most dominant stars on the roster. He had a historic run with the Intercontinental Championship, holding it for a record 666-day reign. However, Vince Russo was disappointed with the creative team's booking of him this week.

WWE aired a video package this week featuring the Ring General. He claimed he became a dominant figure in the business when there were no major stars. He predicted that at SummerSlam, he would ascend to the top of the company by winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest.

This week on Legion of RAW, former WWE head writer Vince Russo felt that the creative team didn't use Gunther for TV tapings because they didn't have any plans on how to book him.

He believed the creative was coasting through with video packages, leading to a lackluster buildup for a major title match at SummerSlam.

"They have nothing for him. Bro, can you imagine they have nothing for champions? They have nothing for him. That's why he's not on TV. They have nothing for him," Russo claimed. [From 13:38 onwards]

Damian Priest now has his eyes focused on his new challenger. This week on RAW, during a backstage segment, he met Seth Rollins and claimed that he would deal with Gunther first before squaring off against The Visionary again.

It will be interesting to see how these two major stars fare during their battle at SummerSlam.
