Former WWE Intercontinental Champion wants WrestleMania match against Rey Mysterio
When associating the Intercontinental Championship with WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, one can't help but recall the highly underrated 2009 feud between the masked luchador and current AEW hotshot Chris Jericho.
With two more years left in the legendary superstar's illustrious career, as revealed by Rey himself recently, The Biggest Little Man of WWE has two more WrestleMania matches in him for certain. Former Intercontinental Champion Ricochet hopes one of two bouts would be against him.
When Wrestling Shadow Podcast asked the RAW Superstar his dream opponent for The Show of Shows, Ricochet had one answer:
"Rey Mysterio *emoji of King's crown*" Ricochet wrote.

Ricochet expressed his love for Rey Mysterio on multiple occasions, even sharing an anecdote of what happened following wrestling his idol outside WWE during a backstage meeting.
Ricochet on being part of the prestigious WWE title's lineage
The Intercontinental Championship, currently under RAW Superstar Gunther's possession, was previously held by Ricochet in the latter's sole reign with the workhorse title. On a recent edition of Out of Character, Ricochet talked about this run with the gold:
"I felt great," Ricochet said. "To even be part of the lineage that is the Intercontinental Championship is great. To be able to etch your name in that history is amazing. I'm still fairly new here, compared to a lot of the people who have been here for a decade plus. So I think there is still more time to grow and more time to have those opportunities. With what I've had already, I was pretty happy with it." [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
Ricochet and his tag team partner Braun Strowman were drafted to the red brand together. The duo is entertaining as ever but has yet to win the tag team championships.
Meanwhile, current champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn seemingly have a few names who are gunning for their titles.
