Former WWE personality does not believe anything Vince McMahon says (Exclusive)

Vince McMahon recently gave an insight into his life inside and outside WWE in Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. Legendary wrestling booker and manager Dutch Mantell was left unconvinced by some comments made by his former boss.

McMahon claimed in the six-part special that he only wanted to "compete" in the 1980s when he bought several rival wrestling territories. However, Mantell believes the 79-year-old wanted to put other companies out of business and turn WWE into a dream destination for wrestlers.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk with Sid Pullar III, Mantell also referenced how McMahon did not answer questions about Janel Grant's misconduct allegations against him:

"What did strike me is very little time was spent on the Janel Grant incident. Very few. Now, I know that Endeavor, they own it [WWE] now and they may not want to get that out there, but do I believe everything Vince says? I don't believe nothing Vince says, to tell you the truth." [5:05 – 5:32]

Why Dutch Mantell does not trust Vince McMahon

During the docuseries, Vince McMahon compared his brain to three computers trying to process different information at the same time. He also admitted he sometimes says one thing but thinks the opposite.

Having been in the wrestling business for five decades, Dutch Mantell realized many years ago not to trust what McMahon says:

"He's a promoter. He's a booker. He's in the wrestling business. Whatever he tells you, and I learned this a long time ago, take it with a grain of salt, throw it over your shoulder or whatever you do with it. But, no, I don't believe a lot of this stuff. He has an answer for it and it may seem logical, but do I believe him? No, I don't believe him. I hate to say that but I don't." [5:32 – 5:59]

Mantell appeared in WWE in 1995 and 1996 as the Uncle Zebekiah persona. He also worked for the company between 2013 and 2016 as Zeb Colter.
