Former WWE star breaks silence after making surprising return to TNA after 285 days

A former WWE star just returned to TNA after 285 days. He has since broken his silence on the matter.

After his release, Matt Cardona has been plying his trade in the independent scene and doing quite well. He has been a regular feature in GCW, and he has made sporadic appearances on AEW TV. The former superstar even recently challenged Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship.

Tonight, Matt Cardona made his long-awaited return to TNA Wrestling this week as he crashed the wedding of PCO and Steph De Lander. Steph De Lander was excited to see Cardona, given their history. He got in the ring and attacked PCO with the wedding gift he brought for them, which he later revealed to be a brick.

Following this segment, the self-proclaimed Indy God took to social media to say that he was back on TNA.

"I’m back!"

Matt Cardona is open to a WWE return

A lot has changed in the WWE since Matt Cardona left the promotion. The creative team is now headed by Triple H, and the morale backstage is at an all-time high. Moreover, the promotion has been record-breaking numbers in recent years, proving that it's an excellent time to be a wrestling fan.

During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, Cardona said he would return to the Stamford-based promotion if given the chance, but he didn't want to be another guy on the roster.

"The new regime has been fantastic. Just look at the shows and those numbers, right? WWE is clicking on all cylinders. I would go back; I don’t care who’s in charge; it doesn’t matter to me as long as I’m on the show (laughs). But I don’t want to go back just to be a guy on the roster," Matt Cardona said.

It remains to be seen if Matt Cardona will eventually return to the Stamford-based promotion.
