Former WWE star claims he owes everything to Shawn Michaels
A former WWE Superstar praised Shawn Michaels during an appearance outside the company. The Heartbreak Kid is the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative at Stamford-based company and oversees the NXT brand.
During an appearance at Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro), former WWE star Dijak revealed that he would never say anything negative about The Heartbreak Kid. He stated he owed everything to Michaels and was proud to be his friend.
"I have never, and will never say a disparaging word about Shawn Michaels. I owe everything to Shawn Michaels, I trust Shawn Michaels, and I love Shawn Michaels, and I'm honored to call Shawn Michaels my friend," Dijak said. [From 00:07 - 00:27]
Dijak was selected by RAW in this year's WWE Draft but never got a change on the main roster. His contract expired on June 28 and he departed the company. The former RETRIBUTION member never captured a title during his tenure with the promotion.
Shawn Michaels praises WWE NXT star
Shawn Michaels recently spoke highly of former NXT Champion Trick Williams and believes he has a bright future in the company.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Michaels shared that Williams is great to work with and is always trying to get better. The veteran noted that the 30-year-old's future is bright and he is looking forward to what lies ahead.
Former AEW star Ethan Page captured the NXT Championship from Trick Williams in a Fatal Four Way match at Heatwave on July 7.
"I read on social media that he’s already main-roster ready. I don’t think that’s the goal for Trick. He doesn’t want to just go and exist on the main roster - he wants to go there and thrive as a main player. I appreciate his maturity and wisdom. He’s a joy to come work with, and I’m excited to see what he does next," Shawn Michaels said. [H/T - SI]
Dijak also praised Michaels during a recent appearance on the Insight podcast and claimed that the 59-year-old listened to his input during his time in NXT.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Dijak and if he ever gets the chance to return to the promotion down the line.
