Former WWE star dares Tony Khan to sign Vince McMahon for AEW

A former WWE star took the Shane McMahon to AEW rumors to the next level by bringing up the idea of Tony Khan signing Vince McMahon. Shane has shockingly been linked to AEW recently, with Khan even saying publicly that he's open to dealing with him.

Shane reportedly got in contact with several AEW talents recently to gauge the possibility of joining the promotion. Mercedes Mone then teased it further when she bumped into Shane-O-Mac at a New York airport.

Former WWE Hardcore Champion Stevie Richards is in favor of AEW signing Shane to a contract. Richards then suggested on The Stevie Richards Show to bring in Vince McMahon despite all the legal trouble he's dealing with at the moment amid a federal investigation.

"I would go as far as to say try to get Vince. That would be nuts. You talking about a guy who has a chip on his shoulder right now. Don't think because he's 77, 78 years old and he walks with a cane and he has a villain mustache that this dude doesn't miss the fight. He's fighting now for a lot of different things in court and legal stuff but he still has it in him to want to. Just think about that I mean and that's really, Shane's an outlier at a percentage of probably I would say between 10 and 30%. Vince between 1 to 8% but it's still kind of a cool fantasy booking," Richards said. [3:44 - 4:32]

Vince McMahon working with Shane McMahon to buy AEW?

On the latest episode of Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, former WWE creative head writer Vince Russo suggested that Vince McMahon might be working with Shane McMahon to purchase AEW. Shane would be the face of the business since Vince could cause some PR problems due to his legal problems.

"It (purchasing AEW) could be under the guise of Shane, that's what I'm saying. Shane is as clean as a whistle. Vince could be behind it without anybody knowing it, bro," Russo said. [25:08 - 25:20]

Vince and Shane are no longer affiliated with WWE, considering that the company is now owned by Endeavor under the TKO Group. Despite being removed from WWE, Vince still has an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion and Shane has a reported net worth of $200 million.
