Former WWE star rushed to hospital for emergency surgery
A former WWE Superstar revealed that he had been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
The name in question is Davey Boy Smith Jr. (real name Harry Smith), who worked with the Stamford-based promotion from 2006 to 2011. During his tenure, Davey has been a two-time Tag Team Champion in World Wrestling Entertainment with Tyson Kidd.
As of now, Davey Boy Smith Jr. is signed with Major Wrestling League (MLW) and slated to wrestle at the Slaughterhouse event on October 14th for the World title match against Alex Kane. However, the star announced his withdrawal from the contest.
Taking to Instagram, the former WWE Tag Team Champion revealed that he had to have his appendix and colon pulled on an emergency basis. He characterized himself as being in more pain than he has ever felt, but that he is currently in a stable state:
"I wanted to inform everyone officially I needed to have Emergency surgery 🏥 👨⚕️ ❤️🩹 late last night for appendicitis + appendix removal, to find out it was diverticulitis as well. 😬I have had part of colon removed with some of my appendix as well for the procedure 😷🤕🤒. Folks this was one of the most painful experiences of my life, but I’m glad I got it done. A burst appendix can lead to serious complications too. I’m sad to announce my withdrawal from the @majorleaguewrestling World Title Match vs. Alex Kane this weekend in Philadelphia as well😔. Hopefully I can get this same opportunity in the future when I’m back healthy, and so sorry to my fans, these things happen and was not something I ever want to endure again! Trust me! The was a 12/10 in the pain scale. Arigatou. I’m in stable condition now, but I am still in immense pain 😷😫🤒I’ll keep everyone posted with updates. Thanks for everyone reaching out to me also. -Harry," he wrote.

Smith and his family accepted the honor on behalf of his father, The British Bulldog, at the WWE Hall of Fame event on April 6, 2021.
Smith signed with WWE after competing in a dark match before SmackDown on July 16, 2021. In a loss to Odyssey Jones and Xyon Quinn, the 38-year-old star paired up with Austin Theory.
He was released on November 4th, however, without making an appearance on television. It remains to be seen how long it will take for Davey Boy Smith Jr. on his road to recovery and return to in-ring action.
