Former WWE star teases return for major reunion ahead of RAW
A former WWE star teased a potential return to the company for a major reunion ahead of tonight's episode of RAW. This week's edition of the red brand will air live from Wind Arena in Everett, Washington.
Layla recently shared that she would love to return to the company to reunite with Michelle McCool. The popular duo was known as Lay-Cool back in the day. In a recent interview with No Name Wrestling, the former Women's Champion disclosed that she would come back to WWE for a reunion with McCool.
She noted that the team had a lot of fans and would love the chance to reunite with her best friend one last time.
"I would honestly come back to do a Lay-Cool reunion. If that is possible and that is something that could happen, why not? It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We had a lot of fans when we were together. I would love to reunite with my best friend just one more time," she said.
Layla hasn't competed in a match for the company since 2015. Her last match in the promotion was a loss to Paige, now known as Saraya in AEW, at a WWE Live Event.
Layla reveals WWE didn't care about the women's division in the past
Wrestling veteran Layla recently claimed that the promotion did not care about the women's division back in the day.
During her interview on No Name Wrestling, the 47-year-old shared that the company wasn't invested in the women's division in the past. She recalled a writer telling her that the promotion didn't care about the female stars on the show.
"At that time, they didn't care about the women's division. I actually remember talking to a writer and they were like, 'We don't care about the girls' and I was like, 'Oh, okay, right'. So, we were just basically like a backburner... We were just, like, to distract the fans a little bit." [From 12:34 to 12:53]
