Former WWE Superstar gives major update about his immediate future

A former WWE star has provided a huge update about his future. He was recently injured.

Matt Cardona first made a name for himself in WWE. During his tenure with the company, he became one of the most popular stars on the roster. The star won the US Title and the Intercontinental Title, along with the RAW Tag Team Title. He was released in 2020 and has since been making a name for himself on the independent scene.

Since his release, Matt Cardona has even appeared for TNA Wrestling and even competed against Adam Copeland earlier this year. However, he had to step away from the ring for the past couple of months due to an injury. The former Intercontinental Champion is now set to return to the ring.

Ahead of his in-ring return, Matt Cardona posted a video on social where he spoke about his future. He mentioned how he got a taste of how it felt to compete in a real arena earlier this year. He also questioned whether he would join either WWE or AEW. The video ended with the dates for his appearances during the month of September.

"I've done it all on the Indies winning titles, cover of magazines all over the world and it's been fun and I needed it. I needed to find myself both as a performer and as a man and I did. I did it all. The time is now to go back. Where do I go, right? Do I go to WWE? Do I go to AEW? Just having that taste even earlier this year wrestling Adam Copeland just being out there jam packed real arena not the Ukranian Cultural Center in LA or this show boat Hotel Atlantic City a real arena. And the crowd responded just on my entrance, you know, made me feel like okay everything I've been doing, it's working." [0:31 - 1:15]

Matt Cardona seemingly wants to return to WWE for John Cena's retirement tour

Earlier this year, John Cena announced that he would be retiring from the WWE next year. This gave way to speculation as to who will face the Cenation leader during his farewell tour.

A fan suggested that Cardona should face Cena on his farewell tour. The former Intercontinental Champion seemingly agreed by saying that he will put it out there.

"I’ll put it out there…yes," he wrote.
