Former WWE Women's Champion to undergo major surgery

The physical demands of professional wrestling often take a toll on the bodies of WWE Superstars. Recently, Leilani Kai, a former WWF Women's Champion and WWF Women's Tag Team Champion, announced that she was scheduled for major surgery.

Leilani Kai gained notoriety during the 1980s for her intense rivalry with Wendi Richter, culminating in a highly anticipated match at WrestleMania 1. Known as The Hawaiian Princess, her contributions to the sport have earned her a place in the NWA Hall of Fame.

The 67-year-old WWE legend took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that she was scheduled to undergo a total hip replacement surgery tomorrow.

Leilani Kai also expressed her love for candid photos with wrestlers, stating that they reminded her of the best times in her life with her friends. The former WWF Women's Champion invited her followers to share their photos with wrestlers, to create a sense of community and nostalgia.

"I’m having a total hip replacement tomorrow. I love looking at candid pictures with wrestlers. It brings back the best times in my life with my friends. If you have taken a picture with a wrestler, post it here," she wrote.

WWE veteran refutes allegations that Leilani Kai cussed him to his face

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo denied allegations made by The Hawaiian Princess about a verbal altercation during their time together in WCW.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer discussed a rumor that Leilani Kai had accused him of wanting her to participate in a mud match, to which he responded by stating that she had cussed at him in front of others. However, Vince Russo emphatically asserted that this incident never occurred.

"The second of all, Leilani Kai, because I wanted her to be involved in a mud match, according to her, she cussed me up and down to my face, okay? Never happened! If anybody thinks I'm going to stand there while Leilani Kai's cussing me up and down to my face, it never happened," he said.
