Former WWE Women’s Champion wants to challenge for IC Title
Bron Breakker seems earmarked as WWE's next pet project. He ushered in the new era with an Intercontinental Championship win mere months after making his main roster debut. And he did it in style, at SummerSlam, no less.
Breakker, 26, has a lot of wrestlers in mind who he wishes to step into the ring with. But perhaps Rhea Ripley is not one of them.
Rhea Ripley is currently hunting down Liv Morgan and her former 'family', The Judgment Day. Her rivalry with the latter is not just about the Women's World Championship anymore and has become a whole lot more personal. Meanwhile, during a recent interview with Foundation Radio, she expressed a desire to challenge for the IC Title:
"I would absolutely love that. That would be a real historic moment. I get to follow in amazing steps like Chyna. It’d be a step for the women’s evolution. We’d be taking over that a little bit more where we’re seeping into the men’s division and showing them what the women can do," Ripley stated.
As for the new Intercontinental Champion, he will defend his belt against Sami Zayn next week on RAW in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match.
WWE and WCW legend Goldberg praises Bron Breakker
When Bron Breakker burst into the scene, many drew comparisons to WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. While speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet recently, Goldberg praised the 26-year-old.
The former Universal Champion revealed that he has known Bron Breakker since the latter was a kid. He added that he has a close relationship with the Steiner family because he used to travel with them during his career:
"I used to travel with Scotty and Rick [Steiner], and I love their kids, and I love kids in general. So, I spent a lot of time with them; so we’re pretty close, and I’m really happy with what’s going on with him [Bron Breakker]," Goldberg said. "The kid’s a freaking freak. He can’t get any taller, but he’s a freak. His is force equals mass times acceleration; his whole deal is explosion, and that’s what makes him different."
Former WWE producer and actor Freddie Prinze Jr. predicted Bron Breakker to be the next big star once the company moves to Netflix in 2025. He even added that a World Heavyweight Championship reign could commence next year.
