Former WWE Women's Champion willing to come out of retirement after a decade at 2025 Royal Rumble
Royal Rumble 2025 will be WWE's next big premium live event. It will also be the first major event of the coming year. All eyes will be on men's and women's Rumble matches. This year, Cody Rhodes and Bayley won the prestigious bouts and secured world titles at WrestleMania 40.
Fans eagerly await the event as multiple prominent names, including some legends, are expected to appear. It seems former Women’s Champion Layla is open to coming out of retirement after nine years to participate in the 2025 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble match.
The former WWE Women’s Champion in question is Layla, who hasn’t wrestled a match since losing to Paige (aka Saraya) at a live event on July 26, 2015. On No Name Wrestling, she said if she got a call to participate in the 2025 Royal Rumble match, she would come out of retirement and compete inside the ring.
"Yeah, I do. I will (...) If there is an offer there, yeah, I will come back. I will do it," Layla said. [H/T: WrestlingInc.]
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 could be a historic night
The 2025 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is set to take place on February 1. It will emanate from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana. This year’s Rumble could be historic, with multiple top names in consideration to win the traditional Rumble matches.
The Rock, John Cena, Goldberg, and even Roman Reigns could shock the world by winning the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble. In the women's division, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, or Carmella could return and reign supreme. However, this is just conjecture at this point. It remains to be seen what plans the Triple H-led promotion has in store for Royal Rumble this year.
