Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion confirms he thinks he will not be able to wrestle again; needs four huge surgeries
A WWE World Heavyweight Champion has seemingly finished up his wrestling career, and he just confirmed it. He also revealed that he needed four major surgeries to help deal with longstanding issues.
Kurt Angle recently spoke to Inside the Ropes to talk about his career.
Kurt Angle has said that he was likely never to wrestle again because of the surgeries that he was going to be having. He said that over the next year and a half, he was going to be busy with surgeries and after that, he would be left unable to wrestle again.
"So, I'm going to be very busy with surgeries next year and a half. I don't think I'm going to be able to wrestle after that." (2:46 - 2:52)
Kurt Angle also talked about how he had received offers to wrestle from the likes of Tony Khan, but he was not able to make it work. He said that he was going to be having four major surgeries. He revealed that throughout his career, he had to have quick-fix surgeries, and now he needed to have the real thing for his neck. He also needed to have three other surgeries, with two knee replacements and one for his back.
"AEW did offer me a couple of times. Tony Khan absolutely adores me, from what I've heard. I don't know if it's true or not. They did offer me two different deals, unfortunately, they both had to do with wrestling. I knew I couldn't do it. I'm at this point in my career and my life where I'm having two knee replacements next month. I'm probably going to have back surgery by the end of this year, and I'm going to eventually have to have neck surgery. Because I've gotten three quick-fix surgeries so far to keep me wrestling in my career, and now I'm at the point where it's time for me to get the real surgery." (2:02 - 2:45)
