Former WWE writer details the company's motives behind having Triple H unveil new title belts (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Triple H unveiling the Crown Jewel Championship for men and women. The Chief Content Officer unveiled the title at Bad Blood.
Earlier this week, Triple H made a major announcement stating that this year's Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia would feature two colossal showdowns featuring the top champions of both brands. The winners of the Champion vs. Champion matches for the men's and women's divisions will hold the new titles.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo detailed that it was purely a financial move by the company. He claimed that Saudi Arabia was paying WWE a huge sum, and it made sense for them to have exclusive championship titles. The former writer was curious about how much Triple H and the rest of the executives were getting paid to introduce the belts.
"There's no payoff? How much did they kick themselves out? How much did Saudi pay for those belts? That's all they care about. They could care less about anything else. 'You want a Saudi Championship? How much? You got a Saudi Championship.' Period, bro." [From 6:30 onwards]
WWE's latest poster for Crown Jewel features top champions of the company such as Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax. While The Ring General and Rhodes are expected to lock horns for bragging rights, the Women's World Champion Liv Morgan will also lock horns with the formidable WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax.
It will be interesting to see which stars walk out of Crown Jewel with new hardware around their waist.
