"Get your history straight" - Wrestling veteran calls out Triple H after Hell in a Cell match is announced
WWE Chief Creative Officer Triple H has been called out by a wrestling veteran following the announcement of a Hell in a Cell match. The ex-WWE writer told The Game to get his story straight after the Bad Blood announcement.
The veteran is none other than Vince Russo, once the head writer of WWE during its peak in The Attitude Era. He was also in WWE around the time of Bad Blood 1998, when The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels had the first, and arguably greatest-ever Hell in a Cell match. It also saw the debut of Kane.
Note: This is the opinion of Vince Russo and doesn't necessarily represent the views of the author or the website.
According to Vince Russo, the idea was to call it "Hell in THE Cell" and not "Hell in A Cell" like it became. Russo called out Triple H over this, telling him to get his history straight.
"Bro-to set record straight I named “ HELL IN THE CELL”. Not A Cell, THE Cell!!! It was meant for THE CELL to be a Character within itself!!! Get your history STRAIGHT @TripleH !!!"
This comes following Adam Pearce's announcement of CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre having their third and probably decisive match inside the structure at Bad Blood 2024. The bout will be inside Hell in a Cell and is expected to headline the Premium Live Event in Atlanta, Georgia.
Under Triple H's regime, the Hell in A Cell premium live event has been eliminated in favor of using the match stipulation for specific feuds and situations.
This was how it was traditionally used and fans seem to enjoy it that way much more rather than building an entire show around it.
