Goldberg allegedly "felt bad" about squashing WWE Superstar in 70-second-match
Goldberg once made a suggestion to make a change to a singles match after feeling bad over the idea of squashing Lance Storm on RAW.
On May 19, 2003, Lance Storm met Goldberg in a singles match on an episode of WWE RAW. Storm was jumped by the former WCW World Champion as he was about to enter the ring through the ropes. He ended up losing the match in 70 seconds.
The Twitter handle "On This Day In WWE" shared the clip of the match in question on its 20th anniversary. The clip received several responses, with Storm chiming in as well. He revealed an interesting tidbit about the bout. As per Storm, Goldberg felt bad about squashing the former Tag Team Champion and suggested jumping him while he was making his entrance.
"It takes a good man to beat me, but it doesn’t take him long. On a side note Bill felt bad this was going to be a complete squash and suggested jumping me as I came through the ropes so I at least had an out."
Goldberg has squashed some big names over the years
The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion is considered by many as one of the most dominant men in the history of wrestling. He was promoted as an unstoppable force during his WCW stint in the late 90s. The same story followed during his WWE run in the Ruthless Aggression Era.
His WWE run in 2016-22 run was marred by a bunch of controversial squashes as well, most notably against Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens. The run itself kicked off with possibly the most surprising squash of all time, in which he defeated Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes.
