Goldberg to lose his retirement match against major WWE Superstar in 10 seconds, predicts veteran

Goldberg will retire from in-ring competition in WWE next year. A wrestling veteran recently suggested the former Universal Champion would lose his retirement match in 10 seconds.

Last month, Goldberg appeared at Bad Blood, where he almost got into a physical altercation with the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther after the latter insulted him. Since then, rumors suggested the Hall of Famer could return to square off against The Ring General. During an appearance on the SEC Network, the former Universal Champion confirmed his return to the WWE ring next year for a retirement match.

As many expect Goldberg's last match to be against Gunther, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan addressed the subject on the Gigantic Pop podcast. He claimed the World Heavyweight Champion has to squash the 57-year-old legend in 10 seconds:

"He [Gunther] can still be champion and he needs to job Goldberg out in 10 seconds flat. It cannot be a back-and-forth match. [...] With respect to Goldberg, great career, one of the greatest streaks of all time, we all were fans of his, I was in college. He was one of the most over talents of all time during his height of his success. But we all get old, it is what it is, and Gunther would absolutely eviscerate him and he needs to eviscerate him," he said. [From 26:18 to 26:53]

Gunther sent a bold warning to the WWE Hall of Famer

In a recent interview with La Previa, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther discussed his interaction with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at Bad Blood last month.

The Ring General claimed he was trying to "lighten up the mood," but Goldberg did not take things lightly. Meanwhile, he threatened to teach the wrestling legend a lesson if he decided to wrestle again:

"When our eyes crossed, basically, I was like, 'Why not break some balls a little bit?' He [Goldberg] doesn't seem able to take things lightly. I tried to lighten up the mood a little bit. If push comes to shove and he thinks he wants to get back into the business and wrestle again, then I'm happy to teach him a lesson!'' [H/T: POST Wrestling]

Goldberg last competed in Saudi Arabia nearly two years ago when he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match. It would be interesting to see if his retirement match would indeed be against The Ring General.
