Goldberg turns down a huge last match against a WWE Hall of Famer; says legend would "die"
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is going to have one last match next year before he finally retires from wrestling once and for all. Now, the star has spoken about one possible opponent and said that the legend would end up dying and he didn't want to do that to him.
During a recent interview, when talking about a final match, Goldberg was asked about fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair.
Gunther recently made it clear that he was willing to stand up to Goldberg at WWE Bad Blood. He insulted him and his son and made him step out of the crowd and into the ringside area. It looked like things were going to get violent until the two of them were interrupted with Gunther getting attacked. This was the first time that the star was seen back in WWE after a long time, and as it turns out, it won't be the last time.
The legend was in the Cats Corner Podcast, talking to another WWE legend, Ernest "the Cat" Miller, and he asked him whether he wanted to face Ric Flair as his last-ever match. Goldberg only had good things to say about Flair, saying he loved him, but he didn't want him to "die again," given what had happened in the past when Flair wrestled his own "last-ever" match. He seemingly suffered a cardiac event during the bout.
"I love Ric. I don't want him to die again. I don't got a lot left in me, but I've got too much for Ric." [37:40 - 37:50]
Goldberg is not the only WWE legend winding up his career in 2025
While the legend is retiring next year in what will be his last match, he's not the only one to be doing so.
John Cena is going to have a retirement tour in 2025, where he will compete in various last-time matches, to bring an end to his gilded career in WWE as well, now that he has stepped into the world of Hollywood.
Also ending her career is Meiko Satomura, who is ending her 30-year career. She will wrestle her last match on April 29, next year.
