Goldberg will suffer embarrassing loss in 5-second squash match against major WWE star, says veteran, if the legend returns to the ring after 2 years
Goldberg almost came to blows with a top WWE champion last night at Bad Blood. A wrestling veteran now thinks a match between the two must be a five-second squash match.
Several legends and Hall of Famers, including Goldberg, attended Bad Blood last night in Atlanta, Georgia. After Triple H introduced the new Crown Jewel Title, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther headed to the ring to address The Game's announcement. Meanwhile, he acknowledged the presence of Goldberg, telling him that he lied to Bret Hart about him being his childhood hero. Instead, he insulted the Hall of Famer and told his son, Gage, that he hoped Goldberg was a better father than he was as a wrestler.
Gunther's comments did not sit well with Goldberg, who jumped over the barricade and wanted to get physical with the World Heavyweight Champion. However, security interfered to separate the two. On the Gigantic Pop podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan addressed the possibility of seeing Gunther go head-to-head with Goldberg. He claimed the only way it could happen was to have The Ring General squash the Hall of Famer in a five-second match. Goldberg last competed in 2022 when he lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber:
"If it is Goldberg, I love Goldberg but no offense, dude, it's gotta be like a five-second match and Gunther just annihilates him. It has to be that way if it happens," he said. [24:41 - 24:52]
Gunther will defend his World Heavyweight Title on WWE RAW
As security interfered to stop Goldberg from getting into a fight with Gunther at Bad Blood, Sami Zayn attacked the latter from behind. The two WWE Superstars brawled as security again interfered to separate them.
The Ring General will put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the former Bloodline member this Monday on RAW. Zayn remains the only WWE Superstar to pin Gunther since the latter's arrival on the main roster nearly two years ago.
It would be interesting to see if Gunther will succeed in retaining his title on Monday and whether he will cross paths with Goldberg down the line.
