Grayson Waller makes shocking statement about his WWE tag team partnership with Austin Theory
WWE Superstars Grayson Waller and Austin Theory have been a tag team on television for over a year now. In the past few months, there have been signs of tension between the duo, and the Australian star recently discussed the possibility of a split.
Theory and Waller clinched the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia in a thrilling Six-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match. Later, the title was rebranded as the WWE Tag Team Championship. However, A-Town Down Under's reign was cut short when the duo lost the gold to #DIY's Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano on the July 5, 2024, edition of the blue brand.
Last week on WWE SmackDown, The Aussie Icon and The Unproven One battled the Motor City Machine Guns in a tag team match. In a contest that saw tension flare between the A-Town Down Under members, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley took home the win.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the host said that a common storyline in tag team wrestling involved one partner betraying the other. Vliet hinted that Grayson Waller might be the one to turn on his partner in this case.
The 34-year-old WWE star admitted that he would be the one to potentially betray Austin Theory if either of them were to turn on the other.
"It would (...) of the two of us, it 100% would be [me turning my back on Austin Theory]," Waller said. [From 47:14 to 47:16]

The Aussie Icon further explained what factors could potentially lead to a future split with Austin Theory. He revealed this in the same interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT.
Grayson Waller claimed that the former United States Champion's humility and respectfulness could hinder their partnership in WWE, as he prioritized winning over everything else.
"Austin Theory is a good guy; he's super humble; he's super respectful. It makes me sick sometimes because I'm like, 'I love that you do that, and you want to sign the photos, and you want to be nice to all the kids, and all that type of thing.' But we need to lock in; we got to do whatever it takes to be the best here, and I think that's where we differ in opinion," he said. [From 47:33 to 47:51]
Only time will tell if the WWE Universe will witness the split of the A-Town Down Under members before the Road to WrestleMania 41 kicks off.
