Gunther breaks silence following WWE SmackDown attack; sends warning to Cody Rhodes

WWE Superstar Gunther had an intense in-ring segment with Cody Rhodes on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. In a recently posted video on social media, The Ring General can be seen sending a warning to The American Nightmare.

On the October 25 episode of the blue brand's show, the World Heavyweight Champion and the Undisputed WWE Champion were involved in a promo battle building up to their upcoming clash scheduled for Crown Jewel. After a heated exchange, Rhodes attacked Gunther before Ludwig Kaiser came out to aid his Imperium teammate.

Randy Orton also made his way to the ring to help Rhodes, setting up a tag team match for the go-home SmackDown show ahead of Crown Jewel. WWE recently posted a video of Gunther and Kaiser from the backstage area, seemingly after his segment with Rhodes. The Ring General sent a warning to The American Nightmare and claimed he would expose the latter for talking about guts and fairy tales.

WWE Hall of Famer predicts the winner of the upcoming clash between Cody Rhodes and Gunther

Wrestling veteran Bully Ray made a bold claim ahead of the champion vs. champion match at the upcoming premium live event. The former WWE Tag Team Champion predicted the contest would not have a clean finish.

Speaking on a recent edition of The Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray predicted Gunther would emerge victorious to win the Crown Jewel Championship. The WWE Hall of Famer added that The American Nightmare's current rival, Kevin Owens, will cost him the match to set up a potential face-off between the two for the following edition of either RAW or SmackDown.

"I think at the Saudi show, neither one can get the win clean. My personal opinion is, the way out of it, little chicanery, maybe a ref bump or behind the ref's back, something, something. [...] Owens interferes. It's quick, Owens and Cody have the animosity, Gunther gets the win, raises the championship above his head. The next week, RAW or SmackDown, now we're off to the races with Kevin and Cody," he said. [From 19:26 to 19:55]

Kevin Owens will also be traveling to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel. The 40-year-old is scheduled to lock horns with 14-time world champion Randy Orton at the premium live event. It remains to be seen who will emerge victorious when the two former allies collide in the squared circle.
