Gunther details reason for recent WWE absence
Gunther has shared his thoughts on being absent from WWE television in recent weeks. The WWE RAW star became King of the Ring earlier this year and earned himself a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam by winning the tournament.
In a recent interview with Gorilla Position, The Ring General noted that there wasn't a reason for him to be around during the build to Money in the Bank. He interrupted Seth Rollins and Damian Priest on the June 24 edition of WWE RAW and warned that he would be taking the title at SummerSlam. He also stated that he is a fan of "less is more" and it made sense for him to step away for a bit.
"Overall, I’m a big fan of less is more. I think it’s a rule that applies in most occasions in life. I think in general, it makes sense right now. After I won the King of the Ring, it was clear I will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. To be fair, there was not really a need to be involved that much before Money in the Bank," he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Popular WWE star admits everything that Gunther does is painful
Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn recently discussed what it was like to battle Gunther in the ring. Sami Zayn dethroned Gunther at WWE WrestleMania XL and ended his dominant Intercontinental Championship reign at 666 days.
Speaking with Kevin Kellam of Sportskeeda Wrestling in an exclusive interview earlier this year, Zayn shared that everything the leader of Imperium does is painful.
"Okay, so the chops I think jump out at people because of that sound, that loud crack across the chest. People respond to that because anybody can understand a sound like that, they know what's that. They can make that association with what that feels like because everybody at some point has been slapped or something. People can really relate to that." He continued, "Everything he does is pretty painful. The chops do stand out but everything he does is really with a hundred percent intensity. You're talking about what kinda separates him and I think that's it." [From 5:23 onwards]
