Gunther drops a major CM Punk reference on WWE RAW during interaction with former champion

Gunther referenced CM Punk on the latest episode of WWE RAW during a backstage segment with Ludwig Kaiser. This could've been a tease for a future storyline or feud between them.

The Second City Saint has called out The Ring General before. After he defeated Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin, he sent a message to the World Heavyweight Champion on the fallout episode of the red brand and told him that he was coming for his title. CM Punk thought he was done with the Scottish Warrior, but the latter attacked him, and their feud continued.

Gunther is set to defend his coveted World Heavyweight Title against Damian Priest at the WWE Survivor Series. Last week, he was involved in an in-ring segment with The Archer of Infamy, and Ludwig Kaiser got involved.

During a backstage segment on this week's RAW, The Ring General told his partner, "Look into my eyes. What do you see?" and asked him whether he still saw the older version of himself.

This is a lyric in CM Punk's iconic "Cult of Personality" theme song in WWE, and he's the first person to come to mind when that line is said. It'll be interesting to see whether this will lead to anything significant.
