Gunther sends three-word message ahead of confrontation with major star on WWE RAW

Gunther has shared a three-word message ahead of his highly anticipated confrontation with a major WWE Superstar tomorrow night on RAW. The Ring General won the King of the Ring Tournament earlier this year.

As a result of winning the tournament, Gunther will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam. Damian Priest is the reigning champion and was able to retain the title at Money in the Bank despite Drew McIntyre attempting to cash in.

Priest and Gunther are set for a confrontation tomorrow night on the red brand ahead of their title match next month, and the leader of Imperium has delivered a message today on his Instagram account.

"Face to Face," he wrote.

Gunther put together a historic Intercontinental Championship reign of 666 days before Sami Zayn dethroned him at WrestleMania XL. He defeated Randy Orton in the finals of the tournament at King and Queen of the Ring in May but the match had a controversial finish.

Triple H hinted that there could be another match between Orton and Gunther but nothing ever came of it.

Gunther explains why he hasn't been on WWE RAW

WWE star Gunther has not been regularly featured on the red brand since becoming King of the Ring and it is with good reason.

In a recent interview with Gorilla Position, the veteran shared why he has not been on WWE television as of late. The former Intercontinental Champion said he is a fan of less is more, and noted that there wasn't a reason for him to be involved in anything during the build for Money in the Bank 2024.

"Overall, I’m a big fan of less is more. I think it’s a rule that applies in most occasions in life. I think in general, it makes sense right now. After I won the King of the Ring, it was clear I will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. To be fair, there was not really a need to be involved that much before Money in the Bank," he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Damian Priest was able to leave Money in the Bank as World Heavyweight Champion thanks to CM Punk ruining Drew McIntyre's cash in attempt. It will be interesting to see if The Judgment Day member can defeat Gunther to continue his title reign next month at WWE SummerSlam.
