Gunther sends a two-word message to Damian Priest ahead of their World Heavyweight Title match at SummerSlam

At the upcoming SummerSlam Premium Live Event, Gunther will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Before their match, The Ring General sent a two-word message to the champion.

Gunther earned his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship after winning the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. Earlier this year, the 36-year-old's historic run as the Intercontinental Champion concluded at the hands of Sami Zayn.

Reflecting on their confrontation from last week's episode of WWE RAW, Gunther sent a two-word message to Priest on Instagram.

"Hard facts," wrote Gunther.

Peter Rosenberg believes Gunther will win the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest at SummerSlam

Peter Rosenberg has predicted that Gunther will dethrone Damian Priest and end his reign as the World Heavyweight Champion. At WrestleMania XL, Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the title from Drew McIntyre, who defeated Seth Rollins to win the gold.

Priest's first title defense was against Jey Uso, whom he defeated at Backlash France. At Clash at the Castle: Scotland, Priest pulled off a massive victory over McIntyre in their rematch, beating the Scotsman in front of his native people. At the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, The Judgment Day member defeated former champion Seth Rollins.

On the Cheap Heat podcast, Rosenberg said Gunther will likely reign supreme in Cleveland.

"I go back to what my original point was. It's bad news for Damian Priest because Gunther is going to win that match. Winning King of the Ring was not the top of the mountain for Gunther at this time."

A victory for Gunther would mark the beginning of his third title reign in WWE. Besides the Intercontinental Championship, he has held the UK Championship in the past. It remains to be seen who walks out of SummerSlam as the World Heavyweight Champion.
