Gunther shares one word message ahead of major WWE Championship match
WWE Superstars are gearing up to settle the score at the Bad Blood PLE this weekend. Others will see the weekend carry them through to the road to Crown Jewel. Gunther is preparing for his next title defense and revealing the driving force that is behind his current attitude.
The Ring General will attempt to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Sami Zayn on the red brand after Bad Blood. Gunther won their first televised singles bout in June 2023 on RAW, but Zayn got the win back with the Intercontinental Championship on the line at WrestleMania XL earlier this year.
Zayn unsuccessfully begged for this title shot for months until things got personal and Gunther's family was brought into the heated exchange. The Austrian Superstar ended up snapping on Zayn and granting him the shot.
Gunther took to Instagram today to share a clip from his RAW promo segment with Zayn. The clip shows The Bull From Vienna recalling how his father was upset over flying all the way to the United States to see his son lose to "that bum Sami Zayn" at WrestleMania. Gunther captioned the clip with just one word to get the point across.
"Authentic," Gunther wrote with the video below.
Gunther will hit a milestone of 75 days as champion if he can retain against Zayn on RAW. It remains to be seen who Gunther may defend against at Crown Jewel on November 2 in Saudi Arabia, but he will hit three months as champion if he manages to retain through the PLE.
