Gunther taunts Bret Hart after WWE RAW
WWE fans were treated to a thrilling face-off on Monday Night RAW this week when the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther confronted the legendary Bret Hart. After the show, The Ring General took to social media to provoke Hart, taunting him about their encounter.
On the September 9, 2024, installment of the red brand, Hart returned to WWE television after over two years in front of his home crowd in Calgary, Canada. However, the veteran's moment with the fans was interrupted by the Imperium leader.
Gunther mocked the WWE Hall of Famer by naming Bill Goldberg as his all-time favorite, a well-known arch-nemesis of 'The Hitman'. Even though Bret Hart angered the 37-year-old star by calling him a coward, the latter refused to grant Sami Zayn a world title shot.
On X (fka Twitter), The Ring General revisited a statement from RAW that had previously upset the 67-year-old legend. The reigning World Heavyweight Champion taunted 'The Hitman' with his iconic catchphrase.
"The best there is and the best there ever will be!" he wrote.

WWE veteran says Gunther's savage Bret Hart burn was "pure brilliance"
As previously mentioned, the Imperium leader took a jab at Hart by asserting that Goldberg was his all-time favorite. Although the home crowd disapproved of the comment, Tommy Dreamer commended Gunther for the segment.
Speaking on an episode of Busted Open After Dark, Dreamer noted that considering the real-life heat between 'The Hitman' and the former WWE Universal Champion, he was shocked to hear Goldberg's name on television.
The 53-year-old veteran suggested that the segment would have been more fitting if it had concluded with The Ring General delivering a chop to Bret Hart.
"What does a great heel have to do? A great heel really has to put it on himself. And [for Gunther] to say that [Bret Hart] is the second best of all time? Pure brilliance. He built him up, like I said, 'Wrestlers in the back all respected you, including myself, until I walked a mile in your shoes, Bret! And I know I'm better than you.' The only way that segment could've ended better, in my opinion, was if Gunther chopped the crap out of Bret Hart. And I know that's not going to happen," Dreamer said.
It remains to be seen if a potential match between Gunther and Sami Zayn for the World Heavyweight Title will be announced for the upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event.
